How To Make The Best Peanut Butter Fudge

By Michelle Young

When it comes to home-made sweets, fudge is one of those desserts everybody loves. You just cannot go wrong if you combine all favorite ingredients such as chocolate or nuts. Peanut butter fudge is probably one of the most loved of all, thanks to the fact this wonderful spread can be successfully combined with just about anything, with guaranteed results.

Although there are different more or less complicated recipes for this wonderful dessert, some are really easy to make and don't require more than a few minutes. So, here you will find some of the simplest. It certainly doesn't mean that these recipes are not at least equally tasty, especially if you use high quality ingredients.

So, you have to prepare the base. This is usually done by simply combining three cups of good choco chips and one small can of sweetened condensed milk. Place these ingredients in a bowl, put the bowl in the microwave and leave it there until everything is melted. Stir and add three large spoons of some fine peanut butter.

Line the pan with foil or baking paper and pour everything in while still warm. Spread the mixture equally. Leave it to cool and keep in the fridge until hardens. Then, simply cut into different shapes, or simply into cubes, sprinkle with chopped peanuts, choco chips, decorative bits or something, and that's it.

This basic mixture made of chips, condensed milk and peanut butter is easy to enrich with just about anything tasty you can think of. Add chopped nuts, small pieces of jelly candies, crushed peanuts, soft caramel or even dried fruits. Sometimes is better to sprinkle the mixture with nuts when it is still warm, so they could stick to it better.

Another ingredient that works perfectly with your favorite spread is caramel. It's really easy to make your own caramel, but you should remember a few things. It should be made over low heat, and you shouldn't stir the sugar, just shake the pan a little, every once in a while. So, put two cups of sugar in your pan and wait until it's caramelized. Pour a small can of condensed milk over and stir until melted.

Once you make your caramel, you can simply add two cups melted chocolate in and stir until smooth. Add three large spoons peanut butter and one cup chopped peanuts in. Pour this mixture into the prepared and lined pan, place everything in the fridge and try to be patient until it hardens enough so you could cut it into small, delicious cubes.

Your fudge will be even smoother if you use full cream instead of condensed milk, not to mention the fact that it will also be even tastier. In this case, add just a little bit more chocolate chips in, and, if you don't want to add more peanut butter, replace a part of it with regular butter. Remember to add some sugar if your full cream is unsweetened, or simply use milk chocolate.
