The world majorly depends on agriculture for what to eat. However, demand is far greater than supply. This has necessitated the introduction of GMO seeds, including nutrition with lots of additives. Unfortunately, this has not worked so well with peoples bodies. It has resulted in numerous lifestyle diseases that are expensive to treat. It is, therefore, important to eat healthy cuisines. The wild foods of California would be ideal.

Many spirited campaigns have been launched to advise people on the importance of eating natural cuisines. It is depressing to say that very few people follow this advice. They buy groceries from supermarkets and other stores without looking for adequate information. Unfortunately, most of those places sell commercially grown supplies. Unlike organic vegetables and fruits, they use a lot of chemicals to improve growth. This explains why wild edibles are the best.

Research has shown that as vegetables and fruits age, they start losing minerals and vitamins. This means that fruits and veggies should be consumed straight from the farm, or they should not overstay. Looking at what is sold in supermarkets, they never have labels to indicate when the produce was supplied. At most, they will only indicate the date of expiration. You can easily buy produce that will not give you required nutrients.

It is, even more, difficult telling how fresh produce looks like. Since most people do not grow fruits and vegetables, they may not know whether what they are buying is actually fresh. In agribusiness, crops are prepared for the long journey to the market through hybridization. This process is meant to keep the foods durable during transportation since they come from far. They also help in boosting shelf life.

Local stores and supermarkets love hybridized produce. Such produce can last even for three months without going bad. Just imagine buying an apple or stone fruit that has been on the shelves for three months. It will still look fresh to you because of refrigeration. However, it will have very little nutritional value to your body. Yet again, the produce is harvested prematurely to ensure they do not spoil during transportation.

It is said that only the strongest survive in the jungle. This explains why you will find many plant species surviving there without anyone necessarily looking after them. If you find fruits and vegetables directly from such a jungle, you can be sure you are eating the right meal. It will be full in nutrients that will enrich your body. In addition, they are void of any chemical additives.

Enjoying such great cuisines is not a preserve for the few. For the most part, most of this plants grow wild near residential areas. Have a habit of maintaining nature and you will enjoy what it has to offer. If you cannot find them, consider making a trip to the conservation areas. You can be sure to find them. Use one of the local guides to help you choose edible fruits and vegetables.

Essentially, eating fresh produce is good for your health. This is especially so for crops that are grown naturally. You can enjoy such meals from selected restaurants around you.
