Benefits Of Using Frozen Vegetable Burgers

By Olivia Cross

Using meat substitutes is a requirement for those on vegan and vegetarian diets. Some meat eaters also love good frozen vegetable burgers. For these individuals, a recent taste test shows that BocaGrillers have a taste most akin to beef. Whereas, the same brand of veggie chicken patties can provide a great substitute for poultry.

One great thing about different brands of veggie burgers is that all can be made in different ways. Whether chopped up into chili, or severed in traditional recipes, these foods offer a lot in the way of meat substitutions and recipe enhancements.

Those wanting a more simple tasting patty based in vegetables might want to try Garden Burger. While Boca is often the one that holds up best with toppings, nothings says one can not add different toppings and ingredients to a variety of styles. Depending on cooking experience, some veggie foods can be made as well, if not better than traditional meat, poultry, fish or wild game counterparts.

A number of individuals now create veggie and other sandwiches from scratch. Whether patties for a burger or sliced vegetables and cheese for a gyro, there are always a number of different options. There are often more options for vegetable type sandwiches than meat types. This often depends on whether or not an individual can live on a vegetarian diet, that is if one is actually on a complete and full vegan or vegetarian plan.

Using these meat substitutions whether on a regular basis as part of a diet can provide a number of health benefits. As most are created from black beans, soy or veggies, all are quite healthy whether bought at a store, or prepared at home. Some meat eaters now eat these foods on a part-time basis to add variety, and others for the protein found in most brands.

People who love vegetarian food generally also love a good veggie dog. When it comes to veggie dogs, the most popular and best tasting are reported to be Smart Dogs and Tofu pups. While it is easy to blend black beans, lentils and other beans and vegetables into homemade garden patties, hot dogs are a bit more difficult.

While meat eaters may be drawn more to the Boca brand, some vegans and vegetarians think the taste is too close to beef. GardenBurger, Amys and Trader Joe's can often provide a better option when it comes to vegetable based burgers. Though, it should be noted that many of these brands tend to fall apart when cooked in a microwave, baked or fried. After which, adding additional ingredients can often be difficult, though when used for sloppy joes and other similar foods can also provide an excellent substitute for meat based burgers.

The good news about vegan and vegetarian food is that entrees are becoming more commonplace, not only in grocery stores but in schools and restaurants. As a result, individuals who often have to eat salad as a main course may now have alternative options when it comes to ordering a faux meat dish to enjoy along with other sides on the menu.
