More About Quality Organic Foods

By Claudine Hodges

Most highly developed countries regulate their food production, especially the production of organic food. This type of foods should be produced without using pesticides, chemicals or different potentially dangerous methods. The final product should be minimally processed, especially when it comes to different radiations and similar methods. Quality organic foods should be certified as such, and produced under control.

Different chemicals used in the process of production can affect the quality, but it can also cause different allergies and other diseases. People who are concerned about their health choose organically grown products instead. Ecologically balanced approach to farming respects the nature and gives the best results when it comes to both quality and taste. You don't need anyone to tell you what is tastier, just try it.

When you see conventionally grown tomatoes, for example, they all look the same. They are beautiful and fully red and so appealing. They are treated in all stages of growth, and even after that. This is done to preserve their freshness longer, and to make sure their color will attract customers. You have to wash them really carefully. Naturally grown tomatoes aren't so uniform, but they have much better taste. And they are much healthier.

Whatever some so called experts might say, the fact is that organically grown fruits and veggies have better taste. Chemically treated foods have vivid colors and look great, but their taste really cannot be compared to real things. The amount of nutrients in these fruits can be controlled, but it is still questionable. If you want to enjoy in tasty food, choose natural, even if it doesn't look so appealing.

Different countries have different regulations about all this. Some have really strict rules, while some are more flexible about it. In fact, all stages of this entire process of production should be under control. There should be no chemicals in the soil, they aren't allowed to use artificial additives or pesticides, everything should be perfectly natural. You can see it all on numerous farms that use traditional farming methods.

Conventional, mass production of foods cannot afford to rely on nature. They use all kinds of chemicals to make sure they will make profit. All naturally grown foods should be appropriately certified. Although, it is hard to say if all stages of the whole process of production were monitored and controlled. You will find labeled products in any supermarket, but it might be better to buy them in specialized stores.

Processed organic foods should contain only natural ingredients, to be labeled as such. In most countries it is allowed that these products contain up to five percent non-organic ingredients. In any case, they shouldn't include artificial additives, genetically modified ingredients and chemicals. In addition, some methods such as irradiation and chemical ripening should never be used in the process of production.

Make sure to read labels on all products you buy. There are different levels of organic, depending on the percentage of non-organic ingredients. This depends on the country, but choose fully, or 100 percent pure whenever you can. Respect the nature and take care of your health, choose natural instead of conventional production. Your meals will be tastier and you will be healthier.
