By Shirley Baker

When it comes to flavor, it is easy to get confused. There are so many things from which to choose and while everyone seems to say that one thing is a pantry must, not everyone agrees. However, when it comes to sriracha uses recipes, there is a lot more variety to this spicy condiment.

All it comes down to is planning and making reasonable substitutions. This may seem like a reach for the busy person but to anyone who enjoys cooking, this can actually be fun. When the mission is to find a way to make old dishes healthier, this may lead to eating habits that can last a lifetime and certainly pay off.

The good thing about sriracha sauce is that is can be used as a mixing ingredient as well as a topping. Depending on the personal cooking style, this can be a great help to anyone looking for quick seasoning. Sometimes adding a little bit of heat can make bland meals better but some people find they can tolerate the heat better when it is mixed in with a little sweetness.

This is also a good way to learn the flavor profile. When garlic is oven roasted, it takes on a buttery consistency that is great for many pasta or grain based meals. Some people will incorporate their favorite barbecue sauce into meatloaf because they like to have that sweet smoky taste without having to fire up the outdoor grill. Although many are finding that sriracha sauce kind of ups the ante with just a little tangy heat.

Anyone who spends a lot of time cooking will find endless possibilities for every meal. This sauce can be mixed into hominy grits or potato dishes for a savory breakfast. Sriracha dips, made with plain Greek yogurt or sour cream, can be used to dip buttermilk chicken strips or a vegetarian panini sandwich. Fans of marinades can let their favorite white meal sit overnight before placing in the broiler or outdoor grill.

Sometimes it can be hard to let go of certain habits, especially when it comes to leisurely activities like enjoying a movie or watching sports. Although some people may find switching to chopped vegetables to be a reasonable solution, it is not the only option. While using an air fryer can be good for making chips or finger foods with minimal breading, often it is the dips that can land a person in trouble. Creamy dips may be substituted with Greek yogurt instead of sour cream or mayonnaise.

Since not all sauces are made alike, it may help to learn about different sriracha recipes if a person is lacking inspiration in the kitchen. This is common with busy people who may find themselves entertaining small groups but do not have the budget to hire a caterer to help out. Many who do not consider themselves great cooks find cocktail meatballs, crab rangoon, or even savory mini pies take little effort and the cleanup is easy.

Whether the choices are temporary or permanent, it also helps to learn more than one way of preparing a favorite dish. This may apply to any protein, complex starch or vegetable. Most people find grilling pans to be a real asset since it allows it carmelize or create grill marks but the excess fat stays in the pan and not on the food.
