Information Regarding Bottling And Kegging

There is no information that has been more pleasing to home brewers than knowing that their home made beer tastes cooler than that packaged in smaller containers. We all want to feel the freshness thus this has led to a heated discussion on which is better between bottling and kegging. Everyone is out there defending their product so as a customer you can give a neutral decision.

Beer is delicate and needs to be stored away from air, light o direct heat. Too much air makes it lose its taste while light and heat leads to a bad smell being produced. Be careful where containers containing the drink are placed. Tell those people whom you are distributing to so that they do not claim you sold to them counterfeit products.

During the processing period there is tenderness for oxygen to find its way into the container compared to that coming straight from the tap. These containers in most times cause fermentation which gives beer some undesirable taste. However kegged beers have no exposure to oxygen thus their tenderness is going skunk is minimal.

There are several advantages that are associated with having your alcohol in smaller bottles. These containers are easily available and at an affordable price unlike gallons which are very expensive. With the big gallons you have to invest your time and energy in cleaning them. In case they are not thoroughly cleaned you could lose a lot of beer.

Putting your drink in commercial containers could be inexpensive since all one need to do is remove the labels and rebrand again. Brown sort of containers at least help in shielding light from reaching the alcohol. At least with such you are sure that your beer will not have an awful smell. But you can reduce your work load by using slightly bigger containers for storage.

Before putting more beer in an already used container, they need to be thoroughly cleaned. This is always the hardest part of a home brewer. You will need to be there to supervise that attention is given to every container. They should be rinsed with hot water and place them upside down for faster and easier drying process.

With the gallons you can tap your own carbon dioxide to avoid adding sugar. Again they are easy to clean and refill making the work easier for the dealer. With that beer being packaged in smaller containers for individuals you cannot tap carbon dioxide for each so to avoid the process they add some to facilitate in carbon production.

However it is expensive to putting your beer in these gallons. The major challenge is the cost. These containers are big and purchasing one does not cost few dollars. Again cooling your drink becomes such a hard task since most of them are above 25 feet tall. You will need to keep on carbon dioxide pressure on because your goal is to dispense beer with a lot of foam to give it nice presentation.
