By Della Monroe

It was a history service that was hosted or conducted by then Dr. Nichols Stephen is usually a week podcast which offers a decisive, informative and informal perspective at the history of house of worship. For those who would like to join them, there is a weekly service which briefly takes people from the present and enables them to see and explore the past. 5 minute church is very helpful to some people as they do not have to walk all the way to the physical location of house of God.

At this particular occasion, Jonathan was invited to the event and given a chance to address the two tribes as well as the guest who were present to witness the treaty signing. This was signing of treaty that was between the Mohawk tribe which was a Native American tribe and colony of the Massachusetts. The guest there included governors, tribe chiefs, ministers, members of assembly from Massachusetts and a number of other tribes men and also Mohawk chiefs.

The host usually preaches about the past, the way of Christians lives before, the events that took place thousands of years back, the places and locations that largely contributed to shaping the story and lives of Christians.

The stories also assist people to create a clear picture of Christian journey that is where they have come from and where they are intending to go. It gives hopes to Christian about life and death just as Christ depicted when he died and rose again from the dead in the third day.

Then there was a sermon of the treaty which was by Jonathan Edward where he gave a sermon on a special occasion during the time which there was a signing of treaty between Indians and Massachusetts. The occasion had governors and members of congress, ministers, chiefs and several Indians. Many guests gave their speech including the governor but the highlight of that occasion was when Edward gave a sermon.

He said colonials chose not to show them the right but instead kept them in dark so as to take advantage of them and steal their resources. He openly told the Mohawks tribesmen that colonialism and them were no different. The only difference was that colonials worshipped the true God. Edward lastly invited this tribesmen to receive the light from God which was better than light from sun.

There are many instances where Christianity history has been used to bring more people to Christ and these instances include sermon of the treaty where Jonathan Edward was invited to address the guests who were invited to witness the signing of peace treaty between the Mohawk and Massachusetts.
