By Edna Booker

It is great to have something to come back to after work when you are hungry, which is easy to prepare. One dish chicken recipes are easy to get together, there are a nice variety available and you can cook them ahead of time. You will also find that chicken done in different ways can be flavorsome and something that the whole family will enjoy.

Some of these dishes are more sophisticated that one would tend to have a dinner party. They may be international and more gourmet based, but are still not difficult to make. Some are quick stir fries that only take a couple of minutes and it is a case of throwing everything in a pan with some sauce. This is also healthy. A lot of people have a slow cooker going, so when they get back from work this is all ready for them.

There are many recipes available that are appropriate for the slow cooker and one does not have to go to much of an effort with this. You just have to make sure that it is on before you go to work and you have all of the ingredients in there along with the liquid. When you get back from your busy day, you will have a tasty delicious meal waiting for you.

Chicken is one of the less expensive meat dishes to make, and yet it is popular and tasty at the same time. Not everyone likes pork or beef, but poultry is something that everyone takes two. Something like coq au vin, will be a nice surprise for guests at your next dinner party. If you do a lot of entertaining then this is the kind of thing to go for, because it may seem like hard work, but it really isn't.

A lot of flavor comes from the wine that you add. This is cooked out, so people with phobias relating to alcohol are not going to be bothered by this. Flour is always the thing that thickens the stew or the casserole and you will achieve this, coating the chicken beforehand and then gently frying it off in a little oil. You will then add the stock after you have added the other ingredients.

Roasted chicken is always a classic and something that everyone enjoys. A lot of people still have this as a traditional meal served with vegetables all in the same roasting pan to make it easy to clean up. It takes a while to peel all the veggies, but you will find that there are leftovers, so this is something to look forward to.

The advantages of having cooked everything in one pot means that there is less cleaning up to do, and this will please everyone, especially those folk without a dishwasher or students who do not take too kindly to washing up. The secret is also to cook extra so that there are leftovers for lunch and these you can take to work and school with you.

Making quick meals that only take a couple of minutes are also something that you can do with ease. You can buy vegetables that are already sliced and diced for you. Along with this, you will have chicken breasts that you will have to cut up and this can be made up into stir fries or you can make a sauce which is nice and creamy.
