It goes without saying that man cannot live without food. We need food for our muscles, tissues and for all the parts of our bodies. It is very important to make sure that the meal we consume is of good quality. It should also be prepared in the right manner using the right ingredients and items. It is so common nowadays to have a side dish accompanying the main course. This brings about variation in taste and flavors. In different countries, various side dishes are used and there are different methods of preparing them. In this instance, we look at Mexican black bean salad recipe.

Before delving into how the food is prepared such that it is ready for consumption, it is radically important to firstly, understand the various ingredients and materials that are usually required, for its preparation to be successful. For the meal to be as spicy, refreshing and also colorful as it should be, it is paramount to have all the ingredients ready, so that the end results will be as marveling and refreshing as expected.

The first and most important ingredient that will be required is one can of black beans, which should be properly rinsed and also drained accordingly. The other ingredient that will be equally important is also a can of kidney beans, and they also should be drained. Additionally, a can of cannellini beans is also mandatory, which should also be equally rinsed and drained. These different types will be very salient, in the process of preparing this highly delicious and colorful meal.

Presence of fiber in these beans makes them so useful in managing diabetes. The fiber also helps in lowering the cholesterol in the black beans. Cholesterol is bad for the heart. Different types of cancers are so common nowadays. Selenium, a mineral that helps in detoxification of some cancer-causing agents, is not found in most vegetables and fruits but it is available in these kind of beans.

Black beans are known for their nutritional advantage since they have high amounts of fiber, protein and antioxidants. Its color too is of great value since it contains a big number of pigments that contain a lot of anti-oxidants. They work together with vitamins to help our bodies fight problems that are related with oxygen.

This is for the purpose of getting rid of phytic acid that can actually cause a barrier to nutrients in the beans. Preparation and cooking process is simple. One needs to have olive oil, garlic cloves, cumin, black beans, chicken broth, lime juice and cilantro. You can even decide to use Monterey jack cheese if it is available. Use a big saucepan to heat the oil using medium temperature.

Add cumin and garlic and cook for about thirty seconds. Put in the beans and chicken broth and let the mixture cook for about five minutes, while stirring from time to time. Mash them, let it cook until thick as you continue stirring, for about twenty minutes. You may add some flavor using lime juice, pepper and salt.

In conclusion, Mexican black beans are a common side dish that accompanies other main dishes. They are highly nutritious with minerals such as potassium, iron, magnesium and phosphorous. They are easy to prepare and the ingredients used are easily available.
