People are into eating foods and specially those from other countries due to their wants of trying to eat something new. Luckily, visiting other countries is not necessary for tasting these dishes because cities such as Baltimore have foreign restaurants available. This gives you the chance to try out those you were not able to eat before.

But some restaurants are not offering food with authentic taste to what it originally has back at their country. They tend to change the flavors to fit in with the locals of the area such as in Baltimore, MD and other cities in the US. So finding a Chinese restaurant Baltimore city has that serves authentic Chinese food is important to have a real experience.

One thing you could do is by checking how crowded the place is with patrons and much better if a people are waiting outside to be seated. This will show that the food they serve are delicious because of the number of people wanting to go in. Those that have Chinese patrons as the majority is better because of the indication of them serving an identical taste just like back at home.

This is because people who are traveling abroad would look for a taste of home so they would search for one serving the most authentic tastes. See what they are eating and order the ones that look delicious to you. Doing this would provide you with a food that Chinese people like and have the bigger chance of having real flavors.

A place having many tables but does not have many guests are probably serving food which are no longer that fresh. And those offering takeout and have no available tables are likely creating some inauthentic dishes instead. And no matter what type or restaurant it is, they should always look clean so avoid those that does not look like one.

Research what the regional specialty of the restaurant is because a large place like China have different areas which mastered different dishes. The northern region specialties are steamed buns, dumplings and noodles because grains commonly grow in these areas. Rice and dishes with vegetables are the specialty of southeastern region with international influences.

Southern ones have sea foods like steamed fish as specialties with their light cooking and using of copious ginger. The landlocked southwestern region is not a good place for ordering fishes and shrimps though freshwater variety is available. Their dishes tend to have a spicy flavor and along with prickly ash which a numbing and tingling sensation is left to the tongue.

Some restaurants tend to have names that are based on the region where they come from but beware of those using the names of cities. They may not actually represent the real taste of that city but are just using them for brand recognition. The name of a dish is not a good representation also but instead look at its ingredients and how it is cooked.

Their original names have a poetic meaning compared to their literal translations. Some have colorful history to describe their taste. Buffet restaurants must be avoided due to their freshness being compromised by heating them longer.
