Jewish American News On The Palestinian Front

By Annabelle Holman

Around the world, people are listening to news on a number of topics. While it is good to keep up with world issues, Jewish American news has been front and center as of late. When and where possible, it is also good to watch other entertainment programs related to Judaism.

When there are eruptions in the middle east, it is good there are a number of different Jewish anchors which understand this long standing dispute. These broadcasters have the ability to help those outside the region understand more about why the dispute exist in the first place.

The orthodox laws of the religion often seem a bit abrupt and harsh to those outside the Faith. Reformers are often thought of as a more liberal aspect to the Faith but must still follow orthodox laws once confirmed. One of the common laws is that when a man or woman marries, it is expected the individual will marry inside the Faith. If not, then the outsider must often reform before the Rabbi will agree to marry the couple.

Within the New Age and Spiritual movement, many individuals, Jewish and otherwise are studying Kaballah. Kaballah is an ideology, not a religion. It is an ideology that has for many years been thought of as Jewish Mysticism. While, others believe it to be of the Occult and therefore of the Devil or Satan.

Reading and watching news on a regular basis can provide information that is necessary important. There does need to be some balance between news and other activities and programming. Also, it is important to realize that much of the news is over reported, especially when it comes to mass media outlets.

The most interesting news in this genre is the opening and unveiling of the new Center for Jewish Learning & Living. The center is a model of a new experiential religious school model. Activities include using ability oriented Hebrew pods, attending weekend gatherings, enrichment classes and annual gatherings and retreats.

Designed for children from kindergarten through eighth grade, the school offers a comprehensive program that is ability based. Unlike most schools, classes are designed around a family's busy schedule. The name Temple Aliyah's Center for Jewish Learning and Living is a good example as to the primary aims of the school. Like most private schools, it can often be hard to get in so it is good to apply as soon as an interest is realized.

When it comes to children in Israel and Palestine, Israeli children often have much better educational options. Many of those living in Palestine hope that once the area receives Statehood, educational opportunities will improve. Regardless as to where one stands on the issue, it is an issue that will most likely continue for quite some time.
