The last thing you want is to start dealing with high blood pressure or low blood pressure. The fruitcake ensures that you absolutely do not have to worry about such things. Cinnamon is one of the ingredients of the gateau. Cinnamon has been seen as a naturally decreasing blood sugar level remedy. This is supported by the Chinese who have used it for centuries.

You are protected from the risk of experiencing heart failure. This is due to the presence of rum in the gateau that prevents peripheral artery disease by blocking the hardening of the walls of the artery. It also affects cholesterol levels by raising the levels of the good protein which is known as high-density lipoprotein and dropping the levels of the bad protein known as low-density lipoprotein.

If you are having digestive symptoms, fruit gateau could actually relieve you. This is because of the nutmeg in the fruitcake. So if you feel some kind of stomach upset, the fruitcake should be able to relieve you. Nutmeg has been occasionally been used as a relief measure for the gastrointestinal system for centuries. People used to grate nutmeg into their soup as a precautionary measure.

Apart from the health benefits, the fruitcake is also beneficial emotionally. When you take a piece of the gateau in the morning, you become a lot more energetic. This energy goes on to lift your spirits and you will always be in a good mood.
