In 2007, a state attorney resigned in Howard County. His position was taken over by the man who would later take over that post, Dario Broccolino. He came to be officially elected to this position in 2010 by the citizens of this county. He had joined this office for the first time in 1999, and served as a deputy attorney.
Prior to this, he had worked as the executive director and main coordinator of activities in their organization of attorneys; 1988-1999. He then too over as assistant attorney of Baltimore City. At this point in time, he got an opportunity to work in the same departments with four dully elected attorneys. The duties assigned to him entailed the prosecution of matters that touched on the economy, illicit drugs and even arson.
This man was born and bred in Baltimore City. When he grew up, he joined Loyola College in Maryland and graduated with his first B. S. Degree in the year 1967. He later went to Baltimore University and graduated with a J. D. Degree. Some years later, he got an advanced degree in law with a specialty in taxation from the same university. Prior to joining the legal fraternity, he had been a social studies teacher, and had taught at Dulaney and Kenwood High schools in Baltimore. In years that followed, he served in the adjunct department in Maryland school of law.
This man has been a leader in very many areas that require different types of skills and knowledge. He has been a president at the association of state attorneys, has received several appointments from the governor; to the victims services and medicinal marijuana board in 2013 is a good example. Before this, he had been appointed to the cease fire commission whose purpose was controlling the use of firearms and reduction of violence.
Between the year 2000 and 2008, he served on the Maryland Handgun Board after an appointment by the then governor. The next governor reappointed him giving him the opportunity to provide his services up to the year 2008. At the moment, he sits in the association of Maryland bar workers and James Macgil American court. He is also a member of the bar foundation of Howard county.
This man has been a resident of Howard County since 1975. He is still a resident up to today. Currently, he sits as the president of the Elliot City fire Department that is made up f volunteers. In years that have passed, he has served as the treasurer at St. John Association. He seems a very busy man. He has an uncountable number of leadership positions, and all of them demand his attention.
He is also very active when it comes to sporting matters. He has worked as a coach, administrator and official in youth sports for close to twenty five years. This is difficult for many people who have overwhelming responsibilities such as his, but he has managed balancing them for all these years.
Broccolino was married to Donna for approximately forty years, before their marriage was ended by her death. They had two children together, and both of them are currently married. It has remained his responsibility to look after the family.
