Fundraising Projects Springfield: Sources Of Funds

By Betty Olson

Donations can help in financing a cause when one does not have enough money. It is advisable to have as many sources as possible to avoid running into trouble. When a firm relies on one or two sources, a collapse of any of the sources can have detrimental effects. Having many fundraising projects Springfield ensures sustainability. What follows are the various sources of funds through which an organization can raise funds.

One of the targets of fundraising projects is grants. These are offered by local, state and federal governments as well as other trusts. They avail billion of dollars for groups that meet the criteria for the funds. The grants are usually set aside for certain goals. Identifying the right source of the grant requires establishing the aim of a group first.

Another option is to organize fundraising events. Most not-for-profit organizations utilize this option to raise funds for their activities. The only issue is that these events consume a lot of time and require more commitment. However, they are worth the hassle since they always pay off with persistence and proper coordination. Some of the possible events would be to hold some walk, some marathon, dinners, talent shows and game nights.

Donations are another source of funds. It is important to note that donations are not only meant for the larger organizations. Smaller organizations at times feel unworthy of the funds, but donations are meant for everyone. The only trick is to meet the criteria to qualify for the funds. The trick is to have a clear goal of what one wants to do with the funds and to convince the donor.

When the aim is to raise untied money, sales provide a perfect option. Untied money gives the fundraiser the flexibility of using the funds in whichever way he or she wishes. Unlike things like donations which are tied to some specific goal, sales money can be used to meet any financial needs.

Similarly, there is the option of crowd-funding. Technology has done a great deal connecting the world. Crowd-funding involves raising funds from anywhere around the world through the internet for a certain project. The fundraiser only needs to set a target, and people make pledges. In some cases, there are rewards for a pledged. Once the target is reached, the fundraiser gets the money. Although this requires creativity and is energy-demanding, it helps in attracting a wide base of supporter.

There is also the option of using community-business partnerships to raise funds. This arrangement ensures mutual benefits for both parties and at times to the whole community. The arrangement could involve financial donations or in-kind donations involving services or goods. It could also take the form of shared premises and infrastructures such as storage spaces and offices. Similarly, it could be in the form of sponsorship or volunteers of labor. The effect is that some resources are saved in such an arrangement that can be utilized for other purposes.

All that is necessary for this process is to ensure a sustainable source of finances. Having a variety of funding sources eliminates the risk of collapse when any source weakness. However, there is a need to ensure the feasibility and profitability of your fund sources to ensure the right combination.
