Where To Find Great Authentic Pizza

By Marie Wilson

The byways of any state can offer great places that only residents and a few travelers visit for good food. It is a theme in local dining, places that are small or family run and well known among locals but welcoming to all comers. But these may be passers through who know the good stuff by simply looking where many people go.

New Jersey is a place where you can find many of these. Pizza in Cape May NJ can be found in these places, where most people go, which are often small but nifty places. Many offer authentic Italian cuisines which makes for variety, the reason for which is that residents know and are proud of where they came from.

Sausage or calzone on the flat bread, great entrees and pasta are the dishes of choice for these. This is excellent eating that has hospitality at its base, and this makes for good sides an portions. Affordability is always an item for the excellent values that are found in these diners.

The cheeses and sauces have a wide variety in Cape May, which was once envisioned by city fathers as another destination resort like Atlantic City. It therefore has lots of vintage buildings with traditional architecture. There are great beaches, too, and a nifty niche of hotels, seaside places and amenities.

The city is a place for the Navy, but the organizational installations here are domesticated fixtures because they are mainly schools and admin facilities. It is a town that you magically go to and enjoy, and it has not gone the commercial way. Which is for the best, because good cuisine can be ruined by too many people wanting a slice of that great tasting pizza pie.

Food lovers will appreciate the serene spirit moving in the pizza places, the same one that invests the community. They have all the time to see the sights under the striped canopy with coffee, and then great gourmet pizza after. The diversity of cooking styles will have them hopping from place to place, and there will be more they can visit in later days.

These places are surprisingly genteel, but not so surprising because there is a working class ethic here, which has its own excellent qualities. These are for things like affordability, no need to spend too much on good food, no dress codes, and no cordon bleu waiters sniffing around the tables. Ultimately, it is the pizza that takes pride of place, that would not be out of place in food magazines, and which come in the heartiest portions.

If you have some questions, look for the certificate of excellence signs at the front of restaurants. There are lots of these to be found, and you can have no better evidence of what is offered on the inside. Plus, for those in search for more romantic and formal spaces, these restaurants will have some reserved for those who want them.

You can certainly find better restos anywhere, but for the pressure free long lunch or the fastfood style meal, they are good enough for anyone. They have retained their informality, which serves food with hassle or any social standards attached. T In this city the brick ovens are fixtures, operating in the true sense of being things that are found in a home.
